Multimedia Program System Requirements
Projects are authored using the industry standard package Macromedia Director/Shockwave 8.5.
It is created in such a way that course updates are stored on-line. The course then automatically checks for updates each time it is run and, if present, would download and install them.
The application is hosted on an Autavis server at the Worldcom Server Centre. The software runs on the local pc, there are elements such as the forums, note taking facility and some documentation that are online. The online elements are hosted on the Autavis server.
In order to run the programme, each user will need a Multi Media PC with the following minimum configuration: -
- Windows 98SE or later (Windows 2000 or Windows XP recommended plus any service packs)
- PIII500 processor or equivalent (1.2Ghz or greater recommended)
- 128MB RAM (256Mb recommended), with 64MB free
- Mouse
- 30MB Hard Disk space
- Sound card with speakers
- 32X CDROM drive (DVDROM recommended)
- Graphics card with 16 bit colour depth (32 bit colour depth recommended)
- Resolution of 800x600 pixels
- Dial-up connection to the internet (network or broadband recommended)
- Printer (if user wishes to print from programme) not essential
Firewall access needs to be allowed through to the following.
